任务

The Environmental 科学 programs strive to increase awareness 和 appreciation of human connections with the rest of nature 和 to stimulate advocacy for sustainable behaviors. The curriculum stresses sound interdisciplinary underst和ing of natural sciences, 社会科学, 和 humanities disciplines in order to explore past, 现在, 和 potential ways of living on the earth. We are concerned with environmental issues at local, 区域, 国家, 以及全球层面, 和 we especially desire to help individuals 和 communities practice sustainable living by means of our research, 教学, 和服务. Faculty 和 students collaborate in active 和 critical learning through community discourse, 个人调查, 和 experiential learning. We intend that our students develop a personal aesthetic awareness of the earth 和 that they engage in the inquiry, 发现, 批判性思维, 和 debate that characterize the study of environmental issues.
