不管你是B.S.W. 或米.S.W. student you will participate in a hands-on field experience at an approved community or clinical site in your area. Site experiences introduce you to the broad range of opportunities available to you as a future social worker working with populations such as children, 老年人, 移民和难民, 还有残疾人. Sites also provide experience in community outreach and advocacy that benefit all people. 

UNE prepares 健康的职业 students for the 21st century collaborative workforce through Interprofessional教育 (IPE). IPE captures intentional course work and learning experiences to provide opportunities that enhance health professional’s capacity in teamwork, 沟通, 解决问题, 解决冲突. This is done through the opportunity to take classes in other 健康的职业 通过参加由 Center to Advance Interprofessional教育 and Practice (CAIEP). All CAIEP interprofessional events are offered both in person and via zoom.

As a student in our 社会工作学院, you will have opportunities to participate with UNE classmates in a variety of global learning experiences. UNE's 全球 Education Programs are designed to enhance knowledge and understanding of the perspectives, 实践, and customs of diverse populations through on-site immersion learning.

加纳跨文化健康体验

UNE’s Westbrook College of 健康的职业 also offers a unique opportunity for a 健康 Care Immersion Experience in Ghana, West Africa. The experience commonly occurs in the summer and involves interprofessional groups of students and 教师 who deliver primary care and related services in the twin cities of Sekondi and Takoradi. You work closely with community health outreach workers and professionals from the Effia Nkwanta College of Nursing and Midwifery, along with licensed providers from the Ghana 健康 Ministry. The work involves interprofessional collaboration, 社区教育, 以及学术和跨文化交流. 

Your time at UNE also includes valuable experiences outside the academic setting, with more than 90 student clubs — ranging from outdoor recreation to our student newspaper to a student theater company — allow you to interact with other students and 教师 members in the ways that matter most to you. 

社会工作学院 Student Organization

The 社会工作学院 Student Organization (SSW-SO) provides a platform for students to become more involved with the 社会工作学院 and the greater UNE community.  The organization promotes a strong sense of community and collaboration among 研究生 students while it also serves as a space for students to voice concerns and affect change within the program. 特别服务小组定期举行会议, 计划教育和社会活动, and connects with students in other academic departments at UNE. They also play a lead role each year in welcoming new students as part of annual WCHP orientation.  Members of the group sit on the WCHP Graduate and Professional Association governing board and can attend departmental meetings as approved by the Director.

When students enroll in the 社会工作学院, they are automatically considered members of the SSW-SO. 积极参与, students are encouraged to attend the regular SSW-SO meetings and are welcome to participate in any of the SSW-SO hosted events/activities throughout the year.

The mission of the Intramural Sports program is to provide fun and safe activities for the UNE community for the purpose of promoting growth and development, 积极的人际关系, 健康的生活方式. The UNE Intramural Sports program offers all under研究生, 研究生, 医科学生, 教师, and professional staff 22+ opportunities to engage in a wide variety of recreational activities. These activities are open to all and include both team and individual sport activities.
